Help :(

I am brand new to this website and I have had quite a year with my dad. Im 22 years old and just recently moved across the country to live with my boyfriend. In one year, I found out he was cheating on my mother (his wife of 30 years) and had a 5 year affair, he moved out of the house not even 24 after the news was "broke" and last week I found out he had a child when he was 17 that no one including my mother knew about. He gavee the baby up for adoption but i am honestly so confused with his role in my life that I just try to avoid talking to him all together which isn't hard considering our distance but I am at the point where I dont know what to do. I have never had such a breach of trust in my life and I never thought it would have been my father of all people. We were never close persay but this is an all together new low. I feel so stuck between my parents. Its so hard.

Some people try to hide the past, in a long run it is better to be open and honest, because it will affect the family no matter what. You have to accept him for who he is, very unpleasant and very sad that he was only thinking about himself, forgetting the consequences. Eventually, he will pay the price. One day, when you are ready, forgive him, it is good for your well being. Wishing you happiness. God bless you.

You should talk to him about it and ask him why he did that, tell him it hurts/hurt you. If that were my dad i would deffinatly sit him down and talk with him and see what he was thinking.

I love my dad.
